Included are 101 entries that contain detailed descriptions of the birds, noting their physical features, unusual coloration, and migratory behavior. The volume is an artifact of the authorâs position as a pioneer ornithologist, working at a unique intersection of history and nature. The catalog is an important record of the authorâs first hand observation of these 101 rare bird species, many of which were unknown to Europeans at the time of publication.
