It includes a facsimile of original manuscripts, a literal English translation, a commentary on King Alfred's contributions to the text, and an essay exploring the geography in Orosius' and Alfred's works. The author demonstrates how Alfred's translation went beyond a simple linguistic exercise: he incorporated his own insights and experiences, transforming Orosius's text into a unique and valuable historical resource that sheds light on Anglo-Saxon England.
