Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the history of European exploration of the African coast beyond Cape Bojador. The author argues that Portuguese sailors were the first to discover and map this coastline in the 15th century, challenging claims that other European nations had made these discoveries earlier. The book examines the evidence for Portuguese priority, including detailed analysis of maps, charts, and other historical documents. It also discusses the broader context of European exploration during this period, and the impact of these discoveries on our understanding of the world. Ultimately, this book sheds new light on a crucial chapter in the history of exploration and challenges long-held assumptions about who first explored the African coast beyond Cape Bojador.
