The Spanish monarchy was negotiating a treaty that would end years of war with France, as well as a series of political alliances through marriage. A peace treaty had been reached, and this book describes the events leading up to and that took place during the signing of the treaty, as well as the marriage between the Spanish Infanta Maria Teresa and Louis XIV of France. Richly detailed and informed by primary source material, this book is a valuable contribution to the study of 17th-century European history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
