It is in a way a companion volume to Doubt and Dogmatism (on the epistemology of the Hellenistic schools), for the papers in this book were delivered at a conference in Paris following up an earlier conference at Oxford [proceedings published as Doubt and Dogmatism]. Doubt and Dogmatism is something of a classic work on epistemology, especially skepticism. But this book focuses more on science. More info/photo on request.
