There are powerful elements of fantasy woven in with history, adventure, romance and at times unspeakable brutality, the African slave trade of the time especially raw in its depiction of man's inhumanity to man. We truly see the horrors of slavery for what they are. But this book offfers so much more.read and enjoy. It's a cult classic.
