Black boards. Single glossy sheet laid-in between front endpapers and at rear endpapers (retained as book was found). Slight ripple at bottom margins of several initial leaves; a few spots of foxing but overall pages are clean. Binding is firm. Artist's six-line pencil inscription "To Ellen | Thank you for all your support and | for making me so welcome in Virginia | With best wishes | Nicolas Trudgian | 4th November 1998-" upon the half-title page. Two-line ink inscription "Gerhard Von Friedrich[?] | III J627 Nord Afrika" on title page (no clarifying information present but presumably being a German soldier/officer/pilot associated with one of Trudgian's images).
