Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Pinny's Holiday - Racey Helps - Medici Books for Children - 1970 First Edition Pinny's Holiday by Racey Helps. A charming and delightful children's story from the beloved Medici Books for Children series. Published by: The Medici Society Ltd, London, 1970. ISBN: 0855030046 Format: Paperback, 24 pages Condition: Very Good. This is the scarce original 1970 first edition of Pinny's Holiday, written and beautifully illustrated by Angus Clifford Racey Helps (1913-1970), a highly regarded English author and illustrator known for his whimsical animal characters and vibrant watercolour artwork. Helps was closely associated with the Medici Society, producing many beloved children's books, postcards, and greeting cards in the mid-20th century. His works are cherished for their gentle storytelling and exquisite, detailed illustrations that capture the English countryside and its animal inhabitants. In this story, Pinny Needlekin the hedgehog and his friend Ponsonby the vole embark on an adventurous (and eventful!) holiday when they decide to use an old cider barrel as a boat. The book features full-colour plates and charming black-and-white line drawings throughout, including scenes with otters, a heron, Cousin Walter the vole, and a beautiful sunset beach ending. This copy is in Very Good condition: Bright, clean illustrated covers with only light shelf wear and minor rubbing to edges (typical for a 55-year-old children's paperback). Pages are clean, bright, and tightly bound with no tears or significant marks. There is a neat contemporary inscription on the front endpaper: "Sarah Taylor." (This adds a lovely personal touch from the period.) Spine is square and uncreased. No writing or colouring inside the text pages. A wonderful example of this collectible Medici title and a perfect gift for fans of vintage British children's literature, Beatrix Potter-style animal tales, or Racey Helps collectors. Ideal for ages 3-8. Angus Clifford Racey Helps (illustrator). …
