In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. Jacket by Philip Hall (illustrator). 1st Edition. First edition, first impression. SIGNED, DATED AND INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR, IN BLUE PEN, ON TITLE PAGE 'Mary - wirh love this time, Cedric Charles Dickens, Bon Appetit, you would enjoy my Paella, but it really isn't a paella! Bless you Cedric, No 162/2000, Merry Christmas 1984'. Some slight edge wear to top and bottom of mostly dark green jacket and spine, corners slightly rubbed, some slight yellowing to inside flaps, faint scratch to top front jacket, not price clipped (£7.95), internally clean tight and almost square, overall a vg+ copy. 201pp. The pleasures of the Dickensian table are evoked by Charles Dickens' great-grandson, Cedric, and are enhanced by the author's recollections of his own colorful, culinary experiences around the world two generations later. Recipes and quotations that were gathered from the kitchens, coaching inns, and eating houses of Victorian England vividly recall the pleasures and privations of the 19th century diet. References include extracts from a book of menus and recipes written by Charles Dickens' wife, Catherine, under the nom de plume, Lady Maria Clutterbuck. Cedric David Charles Dickens (1916-2006), was an English author and businessman, a great grandson of Charles Dickens and the steward of his literary legacy. He was a lifelong supporter of the Charles Dickens Museum in Holborn, London, and twice President of the Dickens Fellowship. Sadly, Cedric suffered a severe stroke after emergency surgery and died on 11th February 2006, aged 89. Signed by Author(s).
