Oblong 4to., textblock measuring approx 11" x 16.85." Inscribed and dated, 1995, by author on title page. Condition: Contents unmarked, extreme cover edges with a hint of insect damage, laminate covers scuffed (I have taken 2 photos of front and back covers, one with the laminate present, the other without). The wire binding is substantial but problematic by design, for after opening up book flat, and then closing it, the final pages want to come loose (they can be returned to their original position, which I have done, albeit with the last page and back cover partially torn at gutter, therefore a bit loose). Despite the design flaw, perhaps to save on the expense of executing a sturdy sewn binding (or designed so that each page can be laid out flat, quite helpful thus), this book is invaluable for consulting while reading any of the classic fur trade narratives, which often have inadequate maps or illustrations of the trails and surrounding areas, provided here.
