Neuware - 'Extracts From the Accounts of the Proctors and Stewards of the Prebendal Church' offers a detailed glimpse into the financial and administrative workings of the Church of the Blessed Virgin in Thame, England. Compiled and edited by Harry Lupt, this volume presents meticulously transcribed extracts from the church's accounts, providing invaluable insights into the daily life and expenditures of a 19th-century English parish. The records, originally kept by the proctors and stewards, cover a range of transactions, including payments for various goods and services, repairs, and charitable donations. Names such as James Belforde, John Woodbridge, and references to local landmarks like Thame Park, appear throughout the accounts. This book is a significant resource for historians, genealogists, and anyone interested in the social and religious history of Thame and the surrounding region, offering a rare and authentic view into the past. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
