This book provides a rare glimpse into the rich history and culture of Rajputana, capturing the essence of this region from the creation to the time of maharaja Mana Singha. The author has collated a diverse range of chronicles to present a comprehensive history of the Rathora rulers of Jodhpur from the mythical Siho to the 18th century. With a focus on the history of Marwar, the book is divided into three major parts. The first is an extensive collection of miscellaneous notes on historical subjects. It is followed by a chronicle written on the orders of Mana Singha, detailing events from the death of Jasavanta Singha to the reign of Mana Singha. The third part is a chronicle of the reign of the Rathora rulers of Jodhpur, from the time of Rao Jodha to the demise of Jasavanta Singha. The book is not a mere compendium of dates and genealogies. It offers insights into the social, economic, cultural, and political conditions of Rajputana during the medieval period. The author has meticulously documented grants, income, and expenditure of various chieftains, providing valuable information on the administrative and financial systems of the time. Through a detailed examination of both primary and secondary sources, this book presents a unique and in-depth exploration of the history of Rajputana and its ruling clans. It is a valuable resource for scholars, historians, and anyone interested in understanding the rich tapestry of Indian history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
