The author examines texts from various dialects to show how methods of expressing future time evolved over time. By doing so, the author places this development within its broader historical context, revealing how different future-tense forms â" such as the use of "sollen" (shall) or "werden" (to become) â" came to be used. The book sheds light on a significant aspect of German linguistic history, offering insights for anyone interested in the evolution of language.
