The author argues that the concept of "Power of the Soul" or "Mind over Matter" has existed throughout history, manifested in practices such as healing rituals and the influence of powerful individuals. He contends that the term "Animal Magnetism" has obscured the true nature of this phenomenon, leading to misunderstandings and discrediting its potential. The author offers a compelling historical analysis, tracing the evolution of these practices from ancient civilizations through the era of Mesmer, whose theories and practices are critically examined. The book challenges conventional medical thinking, presenting a case for the profound impact of the mind on the body and challenging the prevailing materialistic view of medicine. The author ultimately seeks to establish Psycodunamy as a legitimate field of study, drawing on a rich body of historical evidence to demonstrate its significance and potential for healing.
