For the first time in its history, the Grand Master of the Order requested all subordinate lodges to submit detailed reports on their membership, finances and other aspects. This compendium contains the responses from 138 lodges covering all aspects of the order's business across the state. As of 1855, the order contained 14,239 members across the 138 lodges. These proceedings provide valuable references for historians and family historians, as there are few records of the early Masons in the 18th and early 19th centuries. This volume allows historians to study one of the world's most secretive organizations. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
