The tours focus on the lives of a monument to an unnamed Indigenous scout, the National War Memorial, Enclave: the Womens Monument, and the Canadian Tribute to Human Rights. Two of the tours offer analyses of the ambivalent representations of women and Indigeneity in Ottawas statue landscape. Considers monuments in Ottawa, Canadas capital city, as actors participating in dynamic city life rather than objects of history or artifacts of art. Readers are introduced to a wide scope of Canadian history and current issues as well as the fraught subject about whether some monuments should be removed.
