Erotic photographs of men and women became popular for private collectors in the late 19th and early 20th century, but those of homosexual men were still considered a strict taboo in most societies. That does not mean they were not existing those days, but the few images taken, seldom came into public and were a well hidden treasure. We are very glad having collected a small number of those early and rare explicit erotic photographs of that period over many years. Seven images are a loan from a private collector, arranged by "Schwules Museum", Berlin. The rest belongs to the archive of the publisher. We are presenting this collection as another volume of our book series of erotic art and photography. (See page 64) Erotische Fotografien von Männern und Frauen wurden berets Ende des 19. und Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts gesammelt, doch homosexuelle Erotika war vor hundert Jaren noch ein strikes Tabu. Das bedeutet nicht, daß es solche Fotos nicht vereinzelt gegeben hätte, doch sie gelangten nur selten an die Öffentlichkeit und wurden gehütet wie ein geheimer Schatz. Wir sind deshalb besonders froh, über viele Jahre eine kleine Sammlung früher und seltener homosexueller Erotika zusammengetragen zu haben. Sieben Bilder wurden uns von einem privaten Sammler über das Schwule Museum in Berlin zugänglich gemacht. Der Rest stammt aus dem Archiv des Verlegers. Wir präsentieren diese Sammlung erstmals in einem weiteren Band unserer kleinen Reihe mit erotischer Kunst und Fotografie. (Siehe Seite 64).
