The conventional fingerprint systems are easy but it suffer from various problems such as hygienic, maintenance and latent fingerprints. In this thesis, I present a reliable solution of touch-less fingerprint recognition systems that uses very high resolution microscopic camera to capture level-2 features of fingerprint like minutiae extraction. Here I faced some challenging problems that occur while developing the touch-less system like are low contrast between the ridge and the valley pattern on fingerprint image, non-uniform lighting, motion blurriness and defocus. The touch-less fingerprint recognition system can be divided into three main steps: preprocessing, feature extraction and matching. In that, Preprocessing is an important step prior to fingerprint feature extraction and matching. 64 pp. Englisch.
