Gli algoritmi di approssimazione nelle reti wireless sono spesso associati a problemi NP-difficili ed e improbabile che possano mai esistere algoritmi esatti in tempo polinomiale efficienti in grado di risolvere problemi NP-difficili. Gli algoritmi di approssimazione per i problemi di completezza NP sono una questione molto importante nell'informatica teorica, poiche ci sono poche aspettative per P=NP o per la risoluzione rigorosa di problemi NP completi in tempo polinomiale. Il nostro obiettivo e studiare diversi protocolli di routing, ovvero AODV, DSDV e DSR, per reti mobili ad hoc, suggerire modifiche ai protocolli esistenti e implementare l'algoritmo di flooding nella topologia statica ad hoc.
