Paperback. Zustand: new. Paperback. SAY GOOD-BYE TO GUILT AND HELLO TO NO Is there a freeloader in your family? Are you tired of being constantly hit up for money, invitations, and favors? Are you fed up with always being the host and never the guest? Do your family members think they're entitled to your help, but don't think they ever have to show any appreciation, pay you back, or return the favor? Are you worried about not being a "good" Christian if you say "No" to a freeloader's request? Written with humor, wisdom, and a healthy dose of common sense, The Family Freeloader is just what you need! In this book, Sister Renee Pittelli will: * Help you recognize the various ploys that freeloaders use to get money and favors from us * Explain how con-artist relatives observe and test you, and what personality traits might make you seem like easy prey * Systematically debunk many of the most common sob-stories and surprisingly sneaky tactics used by our family freeloaders * Teach you 21 Ways to Spot a Con * Offer a step-by-step guide of effective strategies for turning down requests for money and favors, and deflecting the hard-luck stories, scams, pressure, and guilt-trips in your freeloader's bag of tricks * Include an analysis of what the Bible really says about giving to the poor and needy versus giving to the idle and malingerers, with relevant Scripture verses * Bonus: The new Application for Free Money will help you discern whether your relative really can't afford necessities, or just wastes her money on whatever she wants and then expects others to support her This revised edition of The Family Freeloader is an invaluable lesson for all kind-hearted, generous people-pleasers, who love their families, on how to avoid being taken advantage of by the unscrupulous among us. ***Love thy neighbor - even if they are useless slobs, right? "The Family Freeloader: A Biblical Answer for Sob Stories, Con Games, And Never Having to Get Off The Couch" is a Christian's guide to doing what your rational brain tells you even when you believe your faith tells you otherwise. The Bible is not meant to be a guide to being a fool, and Renee Pittelli gives Christians what they need to combat these con artists. "The Family Freeloader" is a must for any Christian faced with the conflict of their logic and their faith. Midwest Book Review ***I love this book and read it in one sitting. Yes I laughed more than a little but I also learned a lot. I highly recommend this book. While I spent a lot of time smiling, it has a strong message for all of us. Sister Pittelli encourages readers to cast off the guilt that others place on us and to remember only we can allow them to place it there. She continues her book with examples and scriptures. She reminds us that we are saved by Grace not by deeds. We do not have to be door mats for family or friends. We do not have to allow ourselves to be taken advantage of. This is a very important book and should be read by all. This is one of those books that you know will do well. This is what I want in a book high quality writing and message.
