DJ shows spotting and scuffing along with edge chips and small tears. The underside of jacket was neatly reinforced with masking tape along the top and bottom, over the decades the tape is become dry and brittle and can easily be detached just by flexing the paper (the bottom piece already came off). The dry tape glue residue still remains on the underside of the jacket though. Red cloth boards underneath the clean and corner sharp. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No signatures or personal bookplates, no handwriting, no remainder marks, nothing torn or loose. The half title page contains a label from the publisher stating this is an advance copy (for review purposes) with the publication date of March 25, 1948. Stated first edition on the copyright page.
