A seminalcatalogue, published on the occasion of the exhibition curated by Paul Schimmel at the New Port Harbor Museum in Newport Beach (Jun. 28 - Sep. 9, 1984); the exhibition then traveled to five additional museums through 1985. Schimmel here helped to re-contextualize the second generation of Abstract Expressionists; a group previously derided as derivative.
