Very good condition book, blue boards with gilt lettering to spine, also one gilt star denoting vol. 1, top of spine very slightly crushed. Previous owner's name to ffep and short gift inscription with date (1964). Interior clean and all illustrations and foldouts present. Unclipped pictorial jacket good with chips and tears including 1cm x 3cm loss to lower front panel.

The first volume is the text and plates volume with 153 half tone illustrations and 9 text figures, and contains critical reviews of all the major buildings and a 10pp bibliography at the rear.The second volume, the catalogue supplement, contains results of scholarly investigations on all buildings. They constitute volumes IV and V in the publishers series " Studies in Architecture " edited by Anthony Blunt and Rudolf Wittkoweb. Both dustwrappers are edge worn and rubbed, with some chipping and small edge splits. The blue cloth gilt below is clean and bright n both cases, and the texts are clean and sound. Overall VG+ in Good wrappers. A very heavy set weighing c2700g when suitably parcelled, thus exceeding the default weight of 1000g for the postage quotation, and invoking a request for the extra postage at cost at time of order ( or can be supplied on request ) if to be sent overseas or by UK post.
