Cloth shows scattered splash and ring stains to front board, small mark to rear, and general rubbing; spine sunned with light wear at ends; corners lightly bumped. A slight lean to the spine. Old price in pencil to front pastedown; previous owner name in pencil at head of title page. Text block edges toned with a little dust soil; occasional faint foxing to prelims; mild waviness to some page edges. Binding sound and pages clean and unmarked. ---. Posthumous collection of Lawrence's journalism with a brief prefatory note dated February 1930. Many pieces first appeared in newspapers including the Evening News and the Sunday Dispatch; others in periodicals such as Everyman and TP's Weekly. A very good, clean, tight copy in original publisher's maroon cloth boards with gilt embossed facsimile signature to the front board and gilt embossed title to the spine. No inscriptions. 3 tiny splits to the rear inner hinge - probably insect damage - the largest being no more than 3mm in length - the rear board obviously still remains very firmly attached. Some light foxing to the front endpapers including the title page. The head and tail of the spine and the upper two board corners a little bumped - the cloth boards almost entirely free from soiling for fading. A very good, clean, tight copy of this first edition.
