This shivery tale is rooted in folklore that Irish railroad workers brought with them from Ireland in the mid to late 19th century. Odds Bodkin's masterly storytelling and Ted Rose's shimmering watercolors vividly evoke this other worldly chase through the high Rocky Mountains. Odds Bodkin is a professional Master Talesman who performs over two hundred tales, ranging from a four hour epic telling of Homer's Odyssey to fairy tales and fables for young children, in the bardic tradition with music and character voices. Ted Rose is old enough to remember steam locomotives in regular use. Fascinated by trains, he has traveled the country, piecing together the history implicit in the visual image of railroads, past and present, in the American landscape. Book is special and SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Ted Rose (illustrator). Signed by Author(s).…
