Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - What if the universe is not made of separate things For centuries, science imagined reality as a world of local causes: objects here, objects there, influences traveling through space, and hidden properties waiting to be revealed. But quantum mechanics shattered that classical dream. In John Bell and the Nonlocal Universe, Clayton Louis Turnage tells the gripping story of the quiet physicist who turned one of the deepest philosophical arguments in science into an experimental test.Einstein believed quantum mechanics was incomplete. Bohr defended the strange new language of Copenhagen. David Bohm revived hidden variables and accepted the shocking possibility of nonlocality. Then John Bell asked the question that changed everything: Could any local hidden-variable theory reproduce the predictions of quantum mechanics Bell's answer became one of the most profound results in modern physics. His theorem showed that if the world were governed by local hidden variables, certain correlations between distant particles could not exceed a specific limit. But quantum mechanics predicted that entangled particles would violate that limit - and experiments later confirmed it.This book explores: - Einstein's unfinished challenge to quantum mechanics- Bohm's hidden-variable theory and its nonlocal cost- Bell's theorem and the meaning of Bell inequalities- Entanglement as the test case for reality- Clauser, Aspect, Zeilinger, and the experimental revolution- Why Bell did not disprove all hidden variables- What Bell actually proved about locality, realism, and quantum reality- How Bell's work opened the door to quantum information, many worlds, and new visions of physical realityWritten for curious readers, science lovers, philosophers, and seekers of hidden order, John Bell and the Nonlocal Universe reveals why Bell's theorem is not just a technical result - it is a turning point in humanity's understanding of reality itself.Bell did not tell us exactly what the universe is.He showed us what it cannot be.The world is not locally classical. And once that truth is understood, the foundations of reality can never look the same again.

High QualityContent by WIKIPEDIA articles! John Stewart Bell (28 June 1928 - 1October 1990) was a Northern Irish physicist, and the originator ofBell's Theorem, one of the most important theorems in quantum physics.John Bell was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and graduated inexperimental physics at the Queen's University of Belfast, in 1948. Hewent on to complete a PhD at the University of Birmingham, specialisingin nuclear physics and quantum field theory. His career began with theBritish Atomic Energy Agency, in Malvern, Britain's, then HarwellLaboratory. After several years he moved to the European Center forNuclear Research (CERN, Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire). Here he worked almost exclusively on theoretical particle physics and onaccelerator design, but found time to pursue a major avocationinvestigating the foundations of quantum theory.

In physics, theCHSH Bell test is an application of Bell's theorem, intended todistinguish between the entanglement hypothesis of quantum mechanics andlocal hidden variable theories. It is named after John Clauser, MichaelHorne, Abner Shimony and Richard Holt, who described it in a much-citedpaper published in 1969 (Clauser, 1969). They derived the CHSHinequality, which, as with John Bell's original one (Bell, 1964)applies to a statistical property of counts of 'coincidences' in a Belltest experiment that follows from the assumption that there existunderlying local hidden variables. The inequality must be obeyed underlocal realism but can be infringed under certain conditions in quantummechanics.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articlesavailable from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Bell testexperiments serve to investigate the validity of the entanglement effectin quantum mechanics by using some kind of Bell inequality. John Bellpublished the first inequality of this kind in his paper 'On theEinstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradox'. Bell's Theorem states that a Bellinequality must be obeyed under any local hidden variable theory but canin certain circumstances be violated under quantum mechanics. The term'Bell inequality' can mean any one of a number of inequalities - inpractice, in real experiments, the CHSH or CH74 inequality, not theoriginal one derived by John Bell.
