Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. Allingham, Margery THE BLACK DUDLEY MURDER New York, NY: MacFadden-Bartell Co. 1962 VG 176pp. 12mo. Cover does show shelf wear with creasing on both the front and back covers. Edges are worn with light bumping. Side edges of textblock are dyed red and have lightly faded. Text is age toned, but otherwise clean. Previous owner wrote their name at the top of the title page. Binding has loosened inside the front and back covers, but remains firm throughout the text. Overall book has easily withstood the test of time and remains in very good condition.

Buch
Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. London. Penguin Books Ltd, 1961. Reprint. Soft Covers. A scarce title. Minor knocking to corners; spine ends are unworn and spine is uncreased. Practically no edge wear. Toning to the text block and lightly to the wraps; no other marks. Book is in much better condition than would be expected for its age. A very attractive copy of this vintage title. Murder turns a weekend house party at Black Dudley Manor into a deadly affair when the host is discovered brutally slain. Nor do gruesome rituals, callous interrogations, and perilous traps add to the fun. Fatal mystification might win the day, if Albert Campion were not there to sift through the motives and clues as with brilliant detection and his signature charm he penetrates the heart of the crime. Discounts apply on multiple purchases of all of our paperbacks. Care is taken to try and note every defect during collation. Following day dispatch with tracked and signed postage. All books are protected in removable sleeves and carefully packaged in book box.

Buch Erstausgabe
First US edition, first printing. Published by Doubleday, Doran & Company in New York, 1929. This is a near fine copy. Sadly lacking the dust wrapper. The black boards, with red titling, are slightly faded but otherwise markedly tight and clean. The corners and spine tips are bumped with some slight breaches in the cloth. The text blocks are very clean, without foxing. The internals are slightly foxed in places and there is a slightly soiled edge to the front fly. This copy is without inscriptions and is, overall, in near fine condition. The first Albert Campion title.

Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. First edition. A lovely copy of this scarce and early Allingham title. Original black cloth, lettered and decorated in red on the front panel and the spine. The bright and complete dust jacket is by PIC. The jacket is not price clipped and the $2.00 original price is very clear. Next to this price is a stamped 50 which I take to be some kind of remaindered price. Allingham's third mystery novel and the first to feature Albert Campion. Near Fine / Near Fine.
