Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. First edition. Octavo. 86pp. About fine in near fine dustwrapper with a modest chip on the rear panel. Warmly Inscribed by the author. Short stories, mostly in black dialect, by a white woman from California who moved to Greenwich Village in the 1920s and claimed friendship with William Faulkner, later lived in New Orleans where she befriended Oliver La Farge, Lyle Saxon, and Carl Carmer, and then visited Harlem, which seems to have inspired these stories. She also worked for the Movie Picture Department of the Army during WWII, and ran an antique shop in Hollywood after the War. A curious volume issued by a vanity press.
