First edition thus. The first published appearance of any part of Cormac McCarthy's masterpiece, Blood Meridian. The 14 page extract here, "The scalphunters," mostly became Chapter 12. Very good in illustrated paper covers. A few minor extremity rubs with some faint browning to exterior. Softcover. Octavo. 298 pages + [14] pages ads, etc.

First Edition. Octavo (21.5cm); illustrated card wrappers; [xviii],191,[3]pp. Some pinpoint wear to crown, else a fresh, Fine copy. Notes on Blood Meridian began as Sepich's Master's thesis, and evolved into what is likely the most authoritative critical work on Cormac McCarthy's writing. The manuscript was published to coincide with "Cormac McCarthy: The First Conference," which took place at Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky in October of 1993. Notes was published by the newly-established Bellarmine College Press in a run of approximately 700 copies; copies were given to each attendee of the conference, with an additional 50 copies being sold. An elusive volume, particularly in well-preserved condition.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First UK edition, first impression. Original red cloth with white lettering to spine. A better than very good book with an area of abrasion to front endpaper and a few spots to top edge and front and rear endpapers. Barely visible impression to the top corner of title page where previous price was written in pencil. The original and unclipped dust jacket is near fine with just a hint of wear and a tiny nick to spine head. An excellent example of one of the author's and America's best-known and most iconic novels.

Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The dust-jacket has some discolouration on top and to insides to the flaps. It seems to have perhaps been a bit dry since this has made a faint zigzic pattern on the dust-jacket in the places where the discolouration is. The dust-jacket has some small foxing on inside of it. The dust-jacket doesnt has tears but one on top of the front of the dust-jacket as seen on the front. There is one very minor on the back, much smaller than the one on the front. The book is in great condition but has some minor foxing on first pages. There is some minor foxing internally but the pages are fresh and there are no stains. There is some foxing on last few endpapers. On the first page by the board there where 3 syllables written but i have erased them. But they can still be seen but very faintly. I would be happy to send more pictures if you are interested.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Cormac McCarthy (1985) Blood Meridian: or the Evening Redness in the West , US uncorrected proof, published by Random House. Publisher s label taped to the front cover mentioning March 1985 as date of publication and $17.95 as tentative price. Condition: Lacking the title page, this is a gently read copy, probably by a reviewer, with his name Parker on the front panel, his notes on the front free endpaper where McCarthy is described as a virtuoso of brutal violence and a few other annotations up to page 33 in the text. All notes are in pencil and erasable although they are testimony of the publication history and we do not recommend erasing them. The book is square and tight. Covers are showing minor edge wear, the usual vertical crease to the front panel along the spine due to the glue and another faint crease to back cover. Spine lightly faded, rubbed and soiled. A few pinpoints spots on the foreedge. Pages clean and white but for the already mentioned annotations. A rare proof of McCarthy s masterpiece and one of the most important novels of 20th century American literature. First and Fine.
