Colour speckled edges. All volumes very good with clean interiors. Illustrated by 310 colour plates, including 3 frontispieces, by 87 black and white photographic plates, and by figures in colour key and in text. Pictorial endpapers. Decorated by publisher's devices on title pages. Blossoms was the first published title in the well known Wayside and Woodland series of Frederick Warne. The First and Second Series appeared in 1895 and 96, with the Third Series following in 1929. This set is of the new edition of 1941, with two of the three volumes, being reprints of it. Edward Step (1855-1931) was a natural history writer, who contributed several other titles to the Wayside and Woodland series.
