C'est Théodore Dézamy (1808-1850) qui, parmi les Français, a été le plus loin à cette époque dans l'élaboration d'une doctrine communiste. Ancien instituteur de Vendée, surveillant de pension à Paris, il devient le secrétaire de Cabet dont il s'éloigne en raison de la religiosité de ce dernier. Dans la Sainte famille, Marx écrit de Dézamy qu'il a « développé la doctrine du matérialisme en tant que doctrine de l'humanisme réel et comme à la base logique du communisme ». Dézamy pose comme base de toute organisation sociale les six principes suivants : le Bonheur, la Liberté, l'Egalité, la Fraternité, l'Unité et la Communauté qui est le mode d'association le plus naturel, le plus simple et le plus parfait. Il n' y a plus d'issue en dehors d'une triple communauté : communauté de propriétés, communauté de travail, communauté de l'éducation. Signature autographe de Dézamy au bas du feuillet de table. Brige fut un militant communiste français du milieu du XIXe siècle, influencé successivement par Fourier, Restif de la Bretonne, puis Babeuf et Buonarroti. Il publia deux ouvrages théoriques en 1839 et 1843, aujourd'hui oubliés, qui circulèrent néanmoins dans les milieux communistes et blanquistes jusqu'en 1848.À la fin des années 1830, il appartint au groupe oweniste-communiste de Jules et Désirée Gay, cosignant notamment en 1840 un message au Congrès socialiste anglais aux côtés de Flora Tristan. Originaire de Vendée, Alexandre Théodore Dézamy (1808-1850) s'impose comme l'un des théoriciens majeurs du courant néo-babouviste. Ancien secrétaire d'Étienne Cabet, il s'en détache rapidement pour formuler une critique rigoureuse des utopies idéalistes et pacifiques au profit d'un communisme à visée rationnelle et scientifique. L'impact de ce texte dépasse les frontières nationales : dans La Sainte Famille (1844), Karl Marx consacre une analyse majeure à Dézamy, le décrivant comme le continuateur le plus logique des philosophes matérialistes du XVIIIe siècle (notamment Helvétius) et saluant ses travaux comme la base logique du communisme moderne.L'ouvrage, structuré en dix-neuf chapitres et articulé autour de quarante-sept articles de foi, rejette toute forme de transcendance, de providence ou de propriété privée pour proposer un système d'égalité sociale absolue. À la différence des cités imaginaires, Dézamy prend pour critère de certitude l'organisme humain, ses facultés et ses besoins réels. Le texte expose une réorganisation cadastrale et administrative intégrale : le territoire national est subdivisé en communes unitaires régulières de dix mille habitants, combinant travaux industriels et ruraux, éducation publique commune et repas collectifs.
