Hardcover with partial dustjacket, a superb collector's copy, the blue cloth binding is tight and square, clean as new and the contents are fine, the only remarkable flaws are two minor bumps: one at the top front corner that has caused a tiny crease only and one at bottom spine that has also caused a crease only, the jacket consists of the rear flap, rear panel, and a small portion of the spine only, Halley's correspondence is "Preceded by an unpublished memoir of his life by one of his contemporaries and the 'Eloge' by D'ortous De Mairan," 299 pages, includes a frontis portrait of Halley with the original tissue-guard and ten other illustrations, including two folding facsimile letters, also an extensive Appendix of Halleiana.
