The island of Corsica and the waterways that run behind the coast linking the Canal du Midi and the étangs to the Rhône are covered in separate chapters. For this fourth edition there are new and updated plans, new photographs and new sections on routes. The introduction has been reorganized to provide better information on getting to the area, formalities and weather and radio services. Must have for anyone thinking of sailing in French waters without access to 24/7 internet or other references. Accurate and informative with a great deal of useful information. We relied heavily on this guide during our two week charter in the Riviera. It enabled advance planning, options, and backup plans each day. The telephone numbers and radio contact information were accurate for the Marinas we contacted, and the harbor, mooring, and anchorage maps were likeways clear and accurate. We never ran aground, we always had a berth, ball, or anchorage, and we always had good ideas of what to expect. Mr. Heikell's candid summaries of the history of various places in the area were informative and added depth to the trip. Overall this is a well written and invaluable guide to the area. I would not sail this region without a copy on board.
