The prize bindings were awarded to a descendent of Captian William Bligh (9 September 1754 - 7th December 1854) named G Bligh on his graduation from HMS Worcester The Incorporated Thames Nautical Training College in 1957. The bindings are really quite sumptuous with glit decoration to the front and rear boards, the spine, the board edges, gilt page edges to top, the college's crest on the front board, five raised bands to spine decorated in gilt with gilt anchors to compartments.
