The set is generally dated around 1830, and is in very good condition with foxing and the occasional torn page. The bookplate of previous owner is inside all three volumes. Signature of G. W. Aldridge/Rochester/1851 is on first spare. Aldridge was a politician in Rochester, New York; from the date on the inscription, it is the father who was mayor from 1873-1874 who owned this set (rather than the son, Republican Party boss and New York politician). The set is in good condition with replaced spines and a replaced title page in volume three.
