(Some wear at binding, but still a good/fine copy). The titlepage is in red and black, with 1 old library stamp. Many of the fine ills. in the first book represent Roman coins. Written by a counsellor of Henri II, king of France, the work dates from 1556 and was quickly followed by an Italian translation. The German publisher did not translate it, as he was "afraid of changing the meaning".
