(Boston, Mass.) 6 1/8 x 8 5/8 inches tall gilt-stamped blue cloth hardbound in publisher's unclipped dust jacket (nicely preserved in a Brodart clear archival sleeve), 113 pp. Modest edgewear and soiling to covers. Slight tanning to endpapers. Signed by the poet/author on the front free-endpaper and dated 1927. Otherwise, a very good copy in a chipped and stained dust jacket. ~OOO~ Frank Prentice Rand (1889-1971) - professor, playwright, poet and historian - was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and graduated from Williams College in 1912. In 1915 he received the M.A. in English from Amherst College. Rand remained at Massachusetts Agricultural College for 46 years, the only interruption being a year in the U.S. Army during World War I. Rand received two honorary doctorates, one from the University of Massachusetts in 1955 and the other from Williams College in 1956. He authored some 18 published plays and books, retiring from the University of Massachusetts in 1960.
