INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the illustrator: "To Doris 10/6/85 Thank you for providing your 'body' for this book. Love, Rodney." Apparently the recipient was the model who posed for the illustrator's drawings of Dolly. A volume in the Women of Our Time Series. Original glossy, full-color pictorial boards. . Soft cover. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. First edition. Part of the Father Tuck Doll Series. 14 pages. Chromolithographs. Cover is die cut in the shape of a doll. Illustrated with charming single tone and full color lithographs. Covers have significant wear with creases and small closed and open tears. Small sections of the cover are missing. Stapled binding has separated. Pages are bound to each other but no longer connected to covers. Pages have browning and a few mild stains, edge wear. Illustrations still bright and overall very readable. (H1).

Collector's Miniature Set of 5 Different Old Fashioned Doll Books; illustrated stitched paper covers, miniatures all measuring 2.5in in height, varying widths, housed in publisher's hard plastic case. Overall vg (edgewear, bumping to covers) except for 'Only a Doll' which is fair (stitched binding came undone, prev. owner rebound by staple to side edge of last 8pp which obscures portions of these pages) in good case (scratched, worn; title piece of rear case heavily scraped, sticker of prev. owner's name covers half of the title piece).

Soft cover. Zustand: Good. Rare original antique Raphael Tuck and Sons shape book, "Dolly in Town." The book is overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. It is softcover and measures approximately 14 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches; it is 14 pages long. The book is illustrated with a few color illustrations and some line drawings. It is undated but circa the late 1800's or very early 1900's. The covers have some moderate soiling and wear with some some staining to the back cover. The binding of the book is still good and sound. The front and back inside covers have some moderate marginal staining along the bottom margin and length of the spine, a few other pages have some lighter and more minor marginal staining. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with a small imperfection such as a light wrinkle, creased page corner, minor bit of soiling, grubbiness, etc. Generally though, it's a decent copy. ***********This book will require additional shipping charges if being sent outside of the United States***********.

Brightly colour illustrated card covers (front cover shows Dolls, Teddies, Dog and Large Golliwog, etc, climbing out of a toy box), staples rusting. No Publisher - but No. 501 on the rear cover. Unpaginated. Overall very good, clean and bright. An attractive period item.; 108027; 4to Tall Slim/Sm. Folio.

Damp marking does not affect inside at all,nor the front cover One marginal tear without loss a few slight finger marks & original staples a bit rusty but all pages attached except for bottom 1" split. Two captions a bit cropped it sounds wornse than it looks,but a large popular shape book which is often in poor condition or with torn pages due to its size. Here in acceptable good condition. This is NOT a facsimile reproduction, this is the genuine Father Tuck series, Number 1756. 1 volume. Softcover.

DOLL SHAPED BOOK, Tuck's No.1756, inscribed 1901, 370 x 190 mm, 14½ x 7½ inches, die cut card covers shaped at top and fore-edge around a beautiful doll, dressed in pink and lace, with huge hat, carrying parasol, lower cover plain. 4 pages of delightful chromolitho illustrations, 9 in total, all but 1 depicting children with dolls, 10 text pages with many line illustrations, mostly children with dolls. A few tiny surface chips to shaped edges (max 2 mm, 1/8" deep), small pencil inscription on lower cover. Excellent condition for a large fragile item. Near Fine. Not a modern reproduction.
