He was born in the midst of the Second World War. His parents married in 1942 at the Hollandsche Schouwburg in Amsterdam and went into hiding later that same year. They eventually reached Switzerland, where Eli Content was born in 1943. After the war, the Content family settled in Hilversum.

This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition Eli Content a sukkah, at the Joods Historisch Museum, from July 9 to October 12, 1989. Illustrated in color. The black & white photograph of the artist on the rear cover, has a small brown spot on the artist's shirt sleeve. 10" high X 8" wide, 20 pages.
