"Vol. 1" written on title page (the volumes were published separately with Volume 2 not published until 1855). Slight glue remnant on pastedown (possibly from an affixed paper cover), smudging in foxing in text, but a very good copy with the gilt exceptionally bright. *BAL 21043*.
