A lovely study of the art William Strang.Strang was a Scottish painter and printmaker who worked in many different mediums, including etching, drypoint, and mezzotint. His highly regarded art was used for illustrations for works of Bunyan, Coleridge, and Kipling. He is also known for painting portraits of many distinguished men, including Thomas Hardy and Sir Henry Newbolt, whos brother contributed to this volume.Illustrated with a frontispiece, and forty-eight plates.Collated, complete.Including an essay on Strang's art by Frank Newbolt.Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Oxford Libraries. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, with marks to the front board, a few minor marks to the spine and rear board. Spine is a little discolored. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few spots to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only a few odd spots. Good. book.
