Euphoria is aninterpreted programming language created by Robert Craig of RapidDeployment Software. Developed as a personal project to invent aprogramming language from scratch, Euphoria's first incarnation wascreated by Robert Craig on an Atari Mega-ST. It's named Euphoria as anacronym for 'End-User Programming with Hierarchical Objects for RobustInterpreted Applications', although there is some suspicion that this isin fact a backronym. The first public incarnation of the language wasfor the 16-bit DOS platform and was released in July 1993. The originalAtari version, to date, has not been released. As of the release ofversion 3.0.0 (October 17, 2006), it is open source.
