The covers have some areas of discoloration and where the surface of the cover is a little rougher than the non-discolored areas (see pictures -- I'm not sure what this was caused by; it could be water damage, a defect that occurred during printing, wear, or some other reason). The edges of the pages have some small stains, mostly on the longest edge (see pictures). The pages are tanning slightly with age, but are unmarked and free of highlighting. There are a few pages that have small stains in the margins (see pictures for an example).
