Chapter 4 describes the 3D education development process. Chapter 5 studies the adaption 3D system for learning gains in lower secondary normal (technical) stream. Chapter 6 investigates the effects of virtual reality technology on spatial visualization skills. Chapter 7 showcases a sabbatical program for students to use 3D for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning. However, there is a lack of content and processes that combine manipulative materials with technology for educational purposes. The proposed approach introduces a design process to integrate computational techniques with familiar concrete objects, creating tangible learning objects that enrich the learning experience. This approach fosters student engagement and allows them to interact with the tangible learning objects, becoming active participants in constructing their knowledge. The dissertation presents a design process for tangible learning objects in mathematics and provides specifications for creating these objects to support teaching. An example is given through the design of a tangible learning object called 'Tangible Tangram.'.
