First Edition. large slim softcover, in quite good slightly toned jacket screenprint with one very small chip at left edge not affecting print image, jacket flap beginning to separate along hinge.
Limited edition. White wraps/color dj. [26] pp. 13 bw plates. Essay by Richard S. Fields. Jacket is actually a limited edition print by Johns. 1 of 3000, but complete copies are scarce because most people framed the print. The screenprint which Johns used to illustrate the cover of this catalogue is one of his best known images. Has sold for as much as $5300 at auction since 2020. This copy has both halves of the screenprint cover but they are off the catalogue and broken at the spine with minor loss of the parchment-brittle print medium. Very suitable for framing, priced accordingly. The rear panel has no imagery on it, so print is complete. VG/VG-, front panel of dj (print) is beautiful & bright, split entirely along the spine and off the booklet. See notes.
