Within this text, William H. Thorp attempts to unravel the life of John N. Rhodes, a 'Yorkshire Painter' whose art, drawings and paintings are abundantly admired and included 'in so many Yorkshire collections', but whose personal life and artistic output has largely been forgotten. Containing a biography of the artist and examinations of his works. Collated, complete with nineteen plates, ten of which are black and white, nine of which are colour. A limited edition copy, numbered '26' in ink to the colophon, out of four hundred copies. Featuring an ex-libris of a 'James Lees', that is numbered in ink as 'no.1225'. In red cloth binding with gilt detailing to front board and spine. Externally, generally smart. Rubbed to boards, joints and head and tail of spines. Slightly bumped to head and tail of spine.
