In den WarenkorbPaperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the intricacies of the human voice, specifically focusing on the often overlooked muscles that control the tongue and larynx. The author takes a unique approach, drawing parallels between vocal control and physical strength. He argues that just as a weightlifter builds muscle through resistance training, singers and speakers can achieve vocal clarity and power by strengthening the muscles that govern their voice. Drawing upon historical figures such as the famed orator Demosthenes, who utilized tongue exercises for voice improvement, the book reveals a rich history of vocal training practices. The author challenges traditional methods that focus on relaxation and breath control, advocating instead for a meticulous approach that isolates and strengthens specific muscles. Through detailed anatomical descriptions and practical exercises, the book offers a comprehensive guide to unlocking the full potential of the voice. The author's insights, particularly his focus on the "hyo-glossus muscle", provide a unique perspective on vocal control that can benefit singers, speakers, and those struggling with speech impediments. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Illustrated. 618 pp. 9.25 x 6 inches. Cloth bindings show general wear and soiling. Pages are unmarked, but show some handling, edgewear, and minor soiling. Lessons are presented with anatomical illustrations (both b/w and two-tone) and photographs of notable opera singers and orators. Eugene Feuchtinger (1862-1930) was a German-born voice coach, who immigrated to the United States in 1882 and in 1916 established a voice correspondence course called the Perfect Voice Institute. The course was immediately successful and Feuchtinger could claim students in several major European opera companies. Around 1921, due to ill health, his son, Eugene Jr., began taking over the institute's directorship.

Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. The complete manual in 30 Lessons numbered I through XXX, plus the 16 page Reference Outline and Table of Lesson Contents of the Manual. Fourth edition, 1922. Each booklet is saddle stapled and has three perforations for binder insertion. There is no binder; there is a box with remnants of Perfect Voice Institute label of which the seams of the lid are split at corners and the box too thin to hold all 30 lessons. AS WELL, included are the letters the student received from Eugene Feuchtinger between 7 November 1924 and 8 May 1925. This lot consists of five "lesson letters" and two others. 14 leaves, with the first leaf of each letter on Perfect Voice Institute letterhead. Of the seven letters, six are addressed using the student's name, the other one simply headed "My Dear Student". Each of the letters has Feuchtinger's signature in green ink. It is my impression that six of the signatures are from a rubber stamp but that one is authentic. The small sheet with the student's file number is fastened to the first letter; the Rules of the institute, on green paper, are anchored with a brass tab to the letters - this tab is removable. A similar tab is holding Lessons XV through XXV together by the topmost perforation - this too is of course removable. An uncommon archive. Please inquire for any further clarification, and for overses shipping options.
