Hardcover. Zustand: new. Hardcover. This book contains chapters of the proceedings presented at the UiTM International Conference of Mathematical Sciences 2024 (UICMS 2024), organized by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, from October 1213, 2024. This book discusses research on a variety of topics, including numerical analysis, fractional order differential equations, mathematical biology, data envelopment analysis, and machine learning. These areas cover the fundamental aspects of mathematical modeling, differential equations, and the uncertainties in dynamic systems, necessitating the use of numerical approaches to solve complex mathematical problems and their applications. In the realm of numerical analysis, this book explores differential equations from multiple perspectives, with a primary focus on their numerical solutions. It addresses contemporary challenges in the era of intelligence and analytics by examining various issues, presenting novel findings, and promoting sustainable developments in numerical methods. This book is designed for graduate students, researchers, and scientists in the fields of mathematics, engineering, physics, economics, and biology. It is particularly valuable for those engaged in interdisciplinary areas that employ mathematical modeling, differential equations, and numerical analysis to tackle their research problems. These areas cover the fundamental aspects of mathematical modeling, differential equations, and the uncertainties in dynamic systems, necessitating the use of numerical approaches to solve complex mathematical problems and their applications. Buch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book offers a rigorous and comprehensive study of nonlinear electromagnetic wave propagation in the cylindrical Goubau line with inhomogeneous and Kerr-type nonlinear media. It systematically develops mathematical models that describe the propagation of transverse electric (TE), transverse magnetic (TM), and coupled TE TM waves in the Goubau line configuration, where the dielectric permittivity depends on both the field intensity and the radial coordinate.Key concepts explored here include nonlinear eigenvalue boundary-value problems, integral equations, and fixed-point techniques. The chapters cover topics such as nonlinear TE and TM modes, coupled TE TM wave behaviors, and Goubau line configurations (including multilayer dielectric coatings). The author presents an expert analysis of these complex phenomena through a blend of analytical methods and numerical techniques, ensuring both mathematical rigor and physical insight. Theoretical results are supported by existence and uniqueness theorems, spectral analysis, and asymptotic estimates, while numerical approaches validate the analytical framework. This monograph is intended for applied mathematicians, physicists, and engineers working in nonlinear electrodynamics, waveguide theory, and numerical modeling. It serves as both a research monograph and a reference text, with each chapter designed to be largely self-contained for flexible use by the reader. Researchers and students will find this book an invaluable resource for extending their analytical and computational tools in nonlinear wave propagation.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The Master Thesis Numerical Analysis of Flow-Field-Flow Fractionation is a part of the Nanoparticles and Bioparticles Project NaBiPa developed by the Fachhochschule Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and is financially supported by Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst D.A.A.D. NaBiPa is a part of International Quality Network IQN, which is a collaboration of different universities and institutions from all around the world in order to study and investigate in miscellaneous topics related to Nano- and Bioparticles. One of the branches of NaBiPa project is dedicated to study and investigate the Field-Flow Fractionation (FFF) process. The aim of this Master Work is to add the diffusion driven transport to the channel, which has been studied before, with a new approach. The three new approaches that have been worked on are; Eulerian two phase instead of Euler-Lagrange model, Multi component mixing and Theoretical-analytical approach. The study is composed of four sections as a method of organizing; Theory, Mathematical Modeling, Computer Simulation and Case Studies.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The applications of steel in industry are very diverse and widespread. The basic principle involved in heat treatment is the process of heating and cooling. The industrial process of case hardening aims to harden just the workpiece case, letting the inner part softer. The macrosopical model presented here takes into account the diffusion of carbon in the workpiece at austenitic phase, the slow diffusion at high temperature and the rapid cooling, which produces the formation of the martensitic microstructure. During this process, phase transformations in steel take place, influenced by the non homogeneous carbon distribution. The mathematical model presented here consists of a nonlinear evolution equation for the temperature, coupled with a nonlinear evolution equation for the carbon concentration, both coupled with two ordinary differential equations describing the evolution of phase fractions. Existence and uniqueness of solutions are investigated and some numerical simulations are presented.
