A light bump to the tail of the spine. The front upper board corner is a little rubbed. Light dust soiling and a soil mark to the upper fore-edge. A slight rub mark to the inner lower rear board corner. A very good essentially clean, tight copy.

Zustand: Used - Very Good. VG hardback. Facsimile of 1885 edition, in the History of Microscopy series; in dark green faux-leather, with gilt. A very nice clean, tidy copy.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. 2nd Edition. A clean and crisp hardback second edition, but with a couple of previous ownership names. There is a bit of creasing to the 2 top outer corners, and a small indentation about halfway down the spine (please see image). There is a private library stamp at the top of the half title page, and a previous ownership name and a date (1890) at the top of the title page. The binding is secure and the contents are clean.

A short tear by the spine affects pages vii-x (no text affected). There is light wear at the hinges. Blue cloth boards, worn at the corners, rubbed by the spine, gilt decorations and spine titles. From the Preface, The book was written rather for the instructed anatomist than for the beginner. Its aim was to provide a concise but complete account of all the methods of preparation recommended as useful for the purposes of Microscopic Anatomy, and to give a ready source of information on points of detail. Size: 8vo.

A very good copy of this 536 page book, plus 16 page publisher's cataologue, dated May 1897.No inscriptions or annotations, but with woodcut personal bookplate on front pastedown for J. Walker Wood. Contents clean and tight. Hinges firm. Board corners and external hinges rubbed, as are spine extremities. Not cocked, and titling clear.
