General age-related toning to paper, primarily along edges, along with light foxing and small tears. Small holes on left-hand side of map. Includes boundaries, communities, natural features, roads, and more. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A beautiful and well-preserved piece of local Pennsylvania history, showcasing the area in the latter half of the 19th Century. A wonderful map for framing and preservation. The map is divided in two horizontally to show the West Part of Centre Brook on top and the east part of Centre Brook at the bottom. A highly detailed, hand colored map showing the placement and relative size and shape of buildings in Chester with each property identified with its borders and the names of the owner or business in residence. Roads, paths, railroad lines, town borders, streams and rivers are shown. The map is drawn to a scale of 20 rods to the inch. There is a light crease down the middle of the map (from where it was bound-in to the atlas). This map makes a fine decorative item when matted and framed; as well as being a perfect genealogical resource for local history.

This map shows the location and relative size of the W. N. Robbins Rope Walk near the center of town. Roads, paths, steamboat docks, town borders, streams and rivers are shown. The map is drawn to a scale of 20 rods to the inch.
